Why Boarding Schools are Better?

There are many reasons that critics can argue about the role of boarding schools in a child’s life, but the educators and parents who have seen the life of a boarder will differ. Parents who have been to boarding schools understand the wholesome life the child gets to enjoy at a residential school. The child stays away from his actual family but forms bonds with friends and teachers for life.

Wholesome development

Life has become very fast today. Day schools have the child for a few hours and are usually situated in cities. The space crunch often means that the child has limited scope for sports and extracurricular activities. The fewer number of reputed schools in cities mean that the average number of students in each class is higher. Larger classes mean less attention to individual students and that can thwart the development of the child.

Boarding schools are generally built away from the madding crowds of the cities. They are situated on lush green landscapes where the pollution of the city is far away. The children can happily play and work hard in peaceful environments. Large spaces also mean that there is more scope to develop sporting facilities that help your child to explore the world of competitive sports and good health.

The smaller class size generally means that each child gets individual attention and the residential teachers can concentrate their energy on the wholesome development of each child as needed. There are many extracurricular activities that are available at boarding schools as there is more time that is spent at school. Teachers are available in class, in dorm rooms and at study sessions to guide the child.

Ethnic and cultural diversity

Strife and cultural differences often mar personal relationships in the contemporary world as people are becoming more and more intolerant. Residential schools have a variety of children coming from diverse ethnicities and cultural backgrounds. These children form strong friendships that transcend diversities and create a bond that is long lasting. These robust networks stand your child in good stead, she can easily fit into any social or work environment. The amalgamation of diversity makes the child open to new ideas and flexible.

Character Building

Boarding schools have a way of teaching children to be honest. They develop integrity and are more likely to take good decisions in the future. When children are less exposed to screens and the internet usage is mostly monitored, there is less scope for the child to form addictions or fear losing out on social media. The level of confidence goes up.

If the child is surrounded by good vibes and has a good tutelage round the clock, negative character traits are less likely to surface. All the kids have a similar upbringing and the outside influences that can create negative traits are less likely to surface. This helps in creating a childhood that is full of fun, activity, sports, and health. The child grows up to be well balanced and healthy both in mind and body.
